  1. First off, let me say that I am not a fan of Novellas 53 pages for 3.99 makes me grouchy Edenbrooke is my 1 favorite book of all time I purchased this book before I saw the page count This book Heir to Edenbrooke which is Phillip s point of view of the exact scenes in Edenbrooke However it ends at the inn where Phillip and Marianne meet I thought Really You are ending it here Why not at the end of Edenbrooke That is why I am giving it 3 stars I loved reading what Phillip was thinking and his poi [...]

  2. Edenbrooke was told from Marianne s perspective This novella is Philip s story, and I was very sorry when it ended There is so much that could be told. What about Mr Whittles Did Philip ever put that silly man in his place after endangering Marianne the way he did And Cicely She is headed for trouble and needs a firm hand After all, she is only seventeen like her twin sister, but she s already behaving as a woman of the world When Philip and Mr Daventry returned from France together, did Philip a [...]

  3. Not nearly as good as I expected I have a pretty high opinion of Edenbrooke but this almost made me like that one less I think it would have worked as a full novel but it ended at the part where you actually want to see what was going on in his head I wanted to see his side of her falling in the rivertwice I wanted to see his side of the love letter I guess I imagined him to be romantic in my head but I only got to see the self absorbed Phillip.

  4. When I first read Edenbrooke I didn t know if I was going to like it, but I instantly fell in love with it When I saw that Julianne Donaldson was writing a short prequel to Edenbrooke I was ecstatic ThisShort novella made Edenbrooke even enjoyable Getting to read Philips perspective when he first meets Marianne is priceless It was also interesting to know what his true feelings for her sister Cecily were as well as the rest of the superficial ladies of the ton I loved the Bantering between he an [...]

  5. I just kept saying,Fantastic just FANTASTIC , when reading through, and after finishing, this wonderful prequel novella Yes, it was short, but it really gives me so much background on Phillip and why our wonderful Marianne drew Edenbrooke And, shoot I was burdened and wearied by the incessantly scheming debutantes and their mothers Add that to the burden of his family s expectations, the task of keeping a large estate, and a huge change in your life s trajectory that seems like a weight you get [...]

  6. Edenbrooke is one of my all time favourite historical romances and I was really looking forward to Heir to Edenbrooke.Unfortunately it was a very very short albeit sweet read and would probably have suited as an epilogue or something rather than a stand alone books It did leave me rather disappointed but the little I read left me wishing for

  7. An interesting read but far too short for any character development and unrealistic that a man should fall in love within one evening and know that he is in love.
