  1. Weak CharactersEspecially the husband Spoilers He seemed to be a collector of wives and families and just wanted to jump from one family to the next, but also keeping everyone close by Spoiled children The end was terrible, even after finding out that his kids were sending the emails he took the blame and let them walk all over him His poor third wife just seemed to be forgotten Sad.

  2. I have read three of Jewel s books prior to this one and am currently reading another before I met you I loved the first three I read especially then she was gone and watching you I don t know what happened to her with this book It fell so flat The whole story is not realistic the man married three times and everyone gets along so well in what world but that was not what bothered me the most the worst is that the story is really empty and to add insult to injury the characters are not likable at [...]

  3. I started out liking this book The dynamic of 3 families getting along together after divorce was different and interesting and at first I liked all of the characters.I thought the character development was fair everyone was represented in an honest way with foibles aplenty. Then boom the ending I developed a sincere dislike for all of them including poor dead Maya. The all became so narcissistic and weak as to be unlikeable in the extreme The next stuff might be spoilers so stop reading now if yo [...]

  4. I found this book to be very real and relatable A man has recently married his third wife and is initially successful in believing that his children from both previous marriages are all on board and even happy for him He has good relationships with both exes and is oblivious to how 3 is treated at tri family gatherings and how she feels about being expected to just step in and fit into everyone s expectations Lisa Jewell knows people and she writes real I especially liked how she had his childre [...]

  5. This story was too melodramatic Adrian came across as immature, a perpetual ladies man and manipulator I felt empathy for Maya but then frustration because she was so gullible Adrian taking the blame for sending dozens of belligerent, illegal e mails harassing and threatening his wife was crazy and enabling behavior considering who was at fault The whole story seemed like something from a Lifetime movie of the week Adrian always seemed to say the right thing at the right time to all his kids and [...]

  6. This novel was an interesting portrait of a man who falls in love, marries, has children, and then leaves for greener pastures He is on his third wife when she is killed when struck by a bus Was it an accident Or did she did it on purpose The story revolves around Adrian attempting to unravel the mystery of Maya s death He thought they were happy and trying to have a baby Was any of it true Gradually, many secrets are revealed. While I didn t LOVE this book, I did like it a lot I especially found [...]

  7. I really enjoyed this book Lisa Jewell always does a good job explaining the motivations of her characters Every book is interesting and unique In The Third Wife, the husband naively thinks that everyone is fine with his decision to move on and start another family, not realizing how disappointing his behavior is to his children They know he loves them, but, if he does, why isn t he satisfied with what he has Things get out of hand and those he truly loves suffer most I d definitely recommend th [...]

  8. I really liked this book It takes you on a journey through the inner workings of marriage, divorce, and death Hearing how all members of the family dealt with their traumas kept me glued The mystery of the third wife kept me enthralled as well It s like a snowball effect and at the end it s like wow How can one man be so clueless But I can see how a man the way they are wired not all but most could be And of course what can happen when communication is non existent Even the way we choose to see [...]

  9. Lisa Jewell has tried to write about an interesting subject, Married people who get bored with their Partners and move onto another marriage As much as the main character Adrian is believable in that aspect he is also extremely unlikable so it is difficult to relate to him in any way The real problem with this book is the surrounding characters are simply unbelievable The sainted Maya, the third Wife of the story, is irritating beyond words and the previous two Wives are one dimensional and dull [...]

  10. Terribly middle class and pretentious what The only one I had empathy with was the cat.The rest were a suitable case for euthanasia.
