  1. Ms Choi needs to write books She has a biting sense of humor, but with heart She makes you stop and think about your own preconceptions Through her insight, she teaches you how to forgive yourself for the stupid mistakes you have made in life.

  2. The elements of Ms Choi s humor is her authentic vision of herself and her willingness to look into the looking glass of the absurdity of our present day culture Her humor is fresh and delightful, and I remember being this young I look forward to reading of Ms Choi s unique style of humor She embraces her own and our shadow side with eloquence and total lack of fear I am hungry for

The writing is witty, intense and than a little bit snarky I enjoyed the writer s views and descriptions both of people she s met and places she s been She is funny, sarcastic and downright droll I would recommend these short stories to anyone and everyonethey are enjoyable and informativeand there seems to be something for everyone to enjoy here.

  4. This was the first piece I ve read by Mary H.K Choi and I thoroughly enjoyed it Her voice is the perfect mix of sincere and cynical At times I thought I would be in love with her stories if I had ever lived in New York, but ultimately so much of what she says is so relateable that it doesn t even matter I highlighted in this Kindle Single than I have in many full ebooks I ve read.

  5. Excellent piece full of humor from one of my favorite current authors Be aware that a Kindle Single means it s not book length Excellent lighthearted reading that you can appreciate even if you ve never lived in NYC, with a few moments that really make you think Thank you Mary H.K Choi for a great story with your wonderful voice.

  6. Fresh and funny The kind of humor where I wouldn t have known if she were kidding in high school. There s a lot of jokes about being Asian and Korean that I don t think will have the same impact for people who aren t familiar with Asian culture.

  7. This should be required reading for anyone who has lived in New York for than 5 years I have had it in my kindle library for awhile and I am so glad I started it yesterday I was in a s ty mood about job stuff and life stuff and New York things and I felt so much better after finishing these essays Good stuff.
