  1. I know that sounds odd but what started out as a story of serial murder became a story of redemption that left me with a feeling of warmth and nostalgia I m not quite old enough to remember first hand the old serial movies but I did see some in reruns on tv as a kid and I watched the old Lone Ranger, Green Horner who the Green Falcon reminds me off and the original Superman whenever I could and the overall theme was good always won if you did right If only that were still true today Thanks Mr Mc [...]

  2. This is a fun short story that pays tribute to the movie serials of the 1940s and 1950s The plot involves an aging former movie star who witnesses a brutal murder and then sets out to catch the murderer decked out in the cape and mask of his Green Falcon character from his days on the silver screen Before truth and justice win out, he meets a variety of interesting and odd ball characters on the fringes of LA society, including one who has the same name as the original author of the Doc Savage s [...]

  3. Robert R McCammon is simply awesome He writes his books so well and I can t ever remember reading a bad one This one was just a short story, but still was a great story that I couldn t put down I m working on it and I plan on owning all of his works as part of my collection Swan Song is still my favorite as of this moment but with this author, as I go along, that might change Thank you sir You make my reading an absolute pleasure.

  4. I have been reading McCammon for a long time I was heartbroken when he left the horror genre and went to children s books Now he is back to writing horror, and I am gobbling it up Not going to give away the story, but it is a good read Think actor who played a super hero actually believes he can become one in real life Moving story General audience McCammon s most well known works are Swan Song highly recommend and They Thirst horror Missed you Mr McCammon Great to have you back.

  5. This could have been an easy story to write if Mr McCammon had chosen to write about a fictional superhero It would have been fun and superfluous But he chose to write about a character with handicaps The hero had weaknesses but he had heart It is good to be able to cheer for someone like this and not worry whether he succeeds with his trial or not.Mr McCammon is a very skilled writer He has the ability to keep your interest with even the smallest details and the most unlikely characters This sh [...]

  6. The story needs a follow up, but it honestly feels like an attempt to revitalize the great idealism of heroism from the 40s without involving supernatural elements If you wanted to see if Adam West or Michael Keaton did not get out of their acting drought post portraying Batman, then this would be in that vein If you liked Birdman or that Batman The Animated Series episode Beware the Gray Ghost, then you owe it to yourself to read this.

  7. Very good author i always enjoyed is books since I read Swan Song some twenty years ago I think I have read all of us books

  8. I LOVED this story and when I say loved, I mean loved Every thing good about McCammon s story telling in one short story Try it, you will like it
