  1. This book was really good I was surprised how much I enjoyed reading it, given the disappointments I have experienced recently in finding good quality books to read. From the first few pages, I was in I love that Kindle offers free books I could never afford to read as much as I do if not for Kindle Unlimited thanks so much for offering this priceless service. The above paragraph does not pertain to The Wishing Tide, I hope I haven t turned potential readers away from the book Read it it is well w [...]

  2. If you want to spend a few hours harking back to the days when our society assumed women were irrational and frail and men compensated by being stupidly arrogant, you ll LOVE these characters The only reason I made it all the way to the end is that the author kept heavy handedly foreshadowing some big reveal which turned out to be exactly the person I thought it would be I won t do a spoiler, but if you read the first few chapters you ll have a pretty good guess yourself as to the actual murdere [...]

  3. I enjoyed this book I had just finished The Last of the Moon Girls and was looking for another book by this author It has been so long since I found an author that I really wanted to read again I know I will be buying Both books had relationships, mild mysteries , characters that examine their own needs, goals andhow they are living their lives Conflict A bit of romance Real people Just a satisfying read Ms Davis writes the kind of novels that you want to read without interruptions but hate to s [...]

  4. I loved this novel I gave it 4 stars because I enjoyed reading this story on several levels I did think the writing was uneven and repetitive, plus some of the events were predictable This novel begins so slowly that I almost gave up on it,but, I am so glad I kept reading There are some wise characters who hold the narrative together as well as a few priceless nuggets to give an otherwise rather standard romance novel some real substance and charm Also, I loved the location and the off season fe [...]

  5. It s my first Davis novel, and the author proves her talent, but the story has holes Were the main characters the last ones to figure out the mystery of Mary If you are into the Romance Genre, this one follows the pattern Unlike Plugged In for movies and TV, there is no known website for people of Faith to read book reviews before spending their money and time on a novel This one is void of the usual 4 letter words but uses Jesus name a dozen times as a swear word The author sprinkles the book w [...]

  6. The story is told by 3 different people Lane Kramer who moved to Starry Point, NC 5 years ago fell in love bought the Cloisters and turned it into a B B Michael Forrester who shows up at the B B during a storm asking to be put up for the night, even though Lane has closed the B B for the winter He has a mysterious past Mary, who the locals call Dirty Mary, a bag lady, who Lane develops a relationship with This book is well worth reading.

  7. A wonderful cozy read The author has a gift with words I totally enjoyed this book.Throughout the book, there were several times when I would think oh surethis is what happensyawn and then to find I am TOTALLY wrong.I love how the author does this The book is anything but boring. It is a wonderful comfortable read in which you just love each of the three main characters and think about them even when you aren t reading the story They are very real people, although on occasion I wanted to slap Lan [...]

  8. There was nothing I didn t like about this book Family relationships can be messy under normal conditions When you throw in mental health issues and family tragedies it double downs the messiness Misconceptions from childhood can sometimes be hard to overcome as an adult and to get your head on straight, but the author did a remarkable job in getting her characters over those humps.

  9. This is the second of Barbara Davis s books i have read They are hard to put down Old fashioed in a way, but modern as well It a sort of love story, a story about feelings and life A story you want to read, some unexpected plot lines but i cant say what they are without spoiling it for you Read it, you will enjoy it.

  10. A great read from beginning to end A look into what could be going on in the lives of people that normally wouldn t be brought to the surface Intriguing.
