  1. For anyone who is interested in the current trends in the feminist movement, this booms provide a brief overview of current feminist concerns from a UK standpoint But for anyone familiar with online feminist activism, this book doesn t provide any new insight This is one of two published books that attempts to define the Fourth Wave see also Jennifer Baumgardner , which is important considering the need to articulate how online transnational connects can shift and provide new opportunities and i [...]

  2. I found this book very interesting and informative It covers the broad spectrum of feminism without overly pushing any one aspect The context though largely UK has a wider application and references many other counties and situations I found it a useful tool to help explain the waves of feminism and to understand the place of feminism today.

  3. Easy read I felt it should have gone into some theory but overall the author did a good job with introducing the ideas and fight with each of the four waves of feminism If anything she made a cause for action The fight is not over yet.

  4. A clear and brief introduction to British feminists and how they are confronting everyday sexism.Published by The Guardian newspaper.

  5. I should have looked closely at the number of reviews for this treatise I use the word treatise because as I waded through the mish mash of pieces of information it gave me the feeling of an unfinished college treatise I do not consider this to be a completed work or focused study of the fourth wave of feminism There were some particularly salient points included in the book but they were hidden by the rambling unfocused, un paragraphed if that can be a word bits and pieces of data On the latter [...]

  6. I bought this for research purposes as I write for a feminist magazine could NOT believe it was only 2.99 It gave a great summary of the waves of feminism and I would recommend it to anyone who s looking for a basic understanding of the movement Cochrane also beautifully analyzes the issues pertaining to each wave criticisms, setbacks, etc Although readers should be wary of the Western perspective, it is nonetheless a very great read and made me want to start a new storm to cut down the root of [...]

  7. Really well evidenced, engagingn and inspiring Will make you want to get up and start your own feminist project.

  8. Excellent read, but for all its inspiring talk about intersectional feminism, this book is not kind to sex workers, who are women too, and feminists often More of an effort should have been made to present a nuanced view of the sex industry But if you can get past a few instances of very black and white views on this very gray issue, I would very much recommend this to anyone who wants to brush up on the very basics of feminist history, or just be inspired by it.

  9. I m not sure I really get this book It seems less of an expose of the fourth wave and of a collection of stories and anecdotes of what is happening in the world of feminism Maybe that s what it meant to be, but I found it a rather shallow read of an important subject.

  10. A quick read which summed up nicely the different waves of feminism Would recommend especially if you don t know much already about the feminist movements Doesn t go into that much detail of an overview but certainly a great intro
