  1. While there isn t anything remarkable about this adventure it is a comfortable dive back into the world of Walt and his friends The Good Some intense action in a coal car of a train More fleshing out of Lucien and the winter Wyoming landscape. The bad well, nothing bad It s a good story But, irritating in that they aren t in Absaroka County It gets tiring having Cady bitch constantly about dad getting to Philly A character is introduced as the sister of the latest victim and all but disappears an [...]

  2. Walt Longmire is at it again, exerting almost superhuman strength and dedication to duty while chasing suspects and looking for missing women in a raging winter blizzard Is it always snowing in Wyoming or is that just my imagination But I m getting ahead of myself Sheriff Longmire is not in his own Absaroka County but is helping another county sheriff figure out what happened to three different women who have disappeared There are plenty of suspects and unusual characters knocking about Undershe [...]

  3. This is one of Walt Longmire s hair raising adventures As usual there s an interesting plot, an absorbing landscape, quirky characters, lovable characters, miserable characters, and some levity to lighten the action.Walt s daughter Cady is very pregnant, expecting in fact, and Walt has pledged to be there in Philadelphia for the birth But before he goes he needs to do a favor for ex Sheriff Lucian seems a friend of his, a Sheriff s cold case investigator, has killed himself and Lucian thinks tha [...]

  4. The Sheriff deserves better stories than this The plot is wafer thin, and gets lost all the time It very soon gets to be predictable. The usual background is there The Sheriff gets beaten up several times He is exhausted, but keeps on, because of a deadline It is cold It snows He walks alone His friends try to help, but he won t let them, even than usually.Cady is being a spoiled, entitled brat, even than usually. This gets three stars, only because I really like Sheriff Longmire. You can skip it, [...]

  5. Normally, my reviews are critical I need to change that with Craig Johnson I LOVE every single one of his booksfrom The Cold Dish to this one First the characters they are varied, they are real, they are sympathetic and quirkly and just plain funny they change and grow over the series Each one is different, each has a story with drama and with humor. All have stories of their own From the old sheriff with one let to the guy who keeps escaping from jail and ending up in the back of Longmire s truc [...]

  6. This is another great book by Craig Johnson I have all the previous books in the series on Kindle but could only get this in hard back Worth every penny Craig Johnson has me hooked by the first page Walt Longmire is a great loveable character, the sort of man you would like as a friend he has a fantastic friend in the character Henry Standing Bear In this book Walt is supposed to be heading to Philadelphia for the birth of his first grandchild but gets sidetracked into looking into a suicide in [...]

  7. Not the usual standardThe author seems somehow to have given Longmire a personality transplant He s not the Longmire fans have come to know and love I m not sure what s happening here but the transition rom real good guy to who gives a monkey s isn t working for me The story is a bit loose, and the wit a little thin and dated I m a an, but a disappointed one this time.
