  1. As I was finally finishing this book, I remembered that Vince Flynn was nearing his death when he was wrapping this book up It was a very good Mitch Rapp book He was able to write most of The Survivor after this one Previously, I read each Vince Flynn book as it came out, but got side tracked with other stuff after Extreme Measures After some time, I came back to start reading them again There are many other good terrorists fighters out there in novels now, but Mitch Rapp was an original and is [...]

  2. The great thing about the Rapp series it typically delves into US relationships with other countries In Protect and Defend it was Iran Here it was Afghanistan and Pakistan The characters were the strength of the book New characters are introduced and depth added to old characters Hurley is a trip and the dynamic between him and Rapp was awesome Kennedy has arguably her best role to date She s tough and puts various people in their place I m still trying to figure out what they are going to do wi [...]

  3. This final installment by Vince Flynn in the Mitch Rapp series may be the best of all Returning to the present day from the two prequel books, Flynn sets forth a story deep in the characters he developed over his years of writing this series in which he covers a richness from the 25 year history of the main characters The action is fast paced In fact, I m grateful I was on vacation as I couldn t put this book down and read it in two days A must read for any fan of this series and highly recommen [...]

  4. Another great book in the Mitch Rapp series After reading this book, I wonder how I let so many years pass before getting back to reading this series Reading this book feels like going home there are so many characters from previous books and of course, some new ones Rapp is back at work trying to thwart the terrorists, even when he has been injured There are certainly some unforseen twists along the way.

  5. At this point, it is difficult to review any Mitch Rapp novel differently than the ones which came before Vince Flynn has created an excellent and believable character, one dedicated to the safety of our nation, and over all justice for those who would bring down the US.As an aging Hippie Flowerchild, I am fascinated by my having become so taken in by characters of this type Perhaps there is a pragmatic side of me that says Peace and Love will work in the long run, but somebody needs to help it [...]

  6. It has been my pleasure to read all of Vince Flynn s novels, including his latest one, The Last Man Flynn writes of the exploits of Mitch Rapp, the most clandestine of the agents of the CIA s Clandestine Service He is the guy the President and the CIA Director, Irene Kennedy, call on when it is necessary to take the war on terrorism in the most direct way possible to the baddest of the bad guys As Flynn s readers know, the really bad guys are not necessarily running around the desert and blowing [...]

  7. This is a fantastic series of books, and this installment doesn t let up on the action, adventure and insight into the workings of the CIA S clandestine operations, and Washington D.C in general The main character, Mitch Rapp goes through many personal changes and never disappoints He is always willing to fight fire with fire No political correctness here If you like this genre, this one s for you.

  8. I really could read Mitch Rapp stories 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year They are that good. The plot and sub plots flow smoothly without the constant forwards backwards sideways chapters that seem to typify many of the newer writers You also won t find the often ridiculous 6 metaphors per page which many of the newer writers seem to think is a pre requisite for a modern thriller.Vince Flynn is an absolute master of his craft and sets standards that any writer should aspire to.I m not going to waste [...]

  9. The usual action packed read that you expect from a Mitch Rapp book.Good on the action and good on the technical elements but too little explanation of how everything falls into place so easily.
