  1. I m sure Robert Jordan wasn t trying to be misogynistic when he wrote the Wheel of Time series Indeed, he probably thought he was very forward thinking after all, there are as many important female characters as there are males But book 7 is a prime example of just how painful his character writing was.All of the women are very similar because he based all the female characters on his wife , and all the male characters are also very similar because he based them all on himself This is true throu [...]

  2. I m sitting between four and five stars for A Crown of Swords, the seventh installment in the Wheel of Time, but I think four hits the mark Speaking of hitting the mark, I am now officially halfway through the series I will give fair warning there are light spoilers below Heavy ones will be hidden The light ones may come off as obvious even to non readers, but still I want to warn. Now, this one starts out in an interesting and appropriate way The prologue gives us a glimpse of what was happening [...]

  3. The Wheel of Time and I have an interesting relationship Almost all of the characters totally infuriate me but I love the writing, cultures, world building and overall plots so even when in this book everything moves at a snail s pace and almost nothing really happens plot wise I m still thoroughly entertained and enjoy most of the story. But here is what I ve learned during my time with the Wheel The Wheel Weaves as the Wheel Wills. What does this mean exactly Well it pretty much means that at an [...]

  4. It was with a heavy heart that I whizzed to the end of the book on the Kindle just so I could write a review.I knew doing so meant I was never coming back There would be no marking of the page to return to.29% in to the book, the 7th in the series and there are still plot recaps There are still conversations going on that you felt have been had before You are still clicking your tongue at characters in disappointment when they make yet another seemingly foolish decision.Talk about an endless whe [...]

  5. Definitely not the best book of the series Following all the action from Fires of Heaven and especially Lord of Chaos, this book really slows down a lot. There are some decent parts such as everything going on in Ebou Dar and Amadicia, but there is a lot of repetition and reminders of stuff that has already been explained many times over, and some truly tedious parts. The ending picks things up again and leaves the book on a high, so I m looking forward to see what Path of Daggers has to offer.
