  1. The novel was well written and that s where any positive ends It contains 3 4 short stories one main and a few satellites which the reader strongly suspects will come together The main short has strange, intelligent, friendly creatures, unlike any other They appear from nowhere and seem to have hope in elevating the human race from its present mess its in There s so much dialogue the story is boring.Intertwined within the chapters are a couple other shorts The only one with some intrigue and pro [...]

  2. I have been reading Dean Koontz s books for over 30 years, and have loved almost every one There have been maybe 2 books that I felt weren t up to the standard I hold Mr.Koontz to, but they were still better than a lot of other authors I have a whole section of my home library dedicated to his books I don t give them away after reading, and now lend them only to those people I really trust with my books This book is another that I wish could come true The story is so uplifting It s definitely on [...]

  3. I gave this book 5 stars but I always give his books 5 stars because like all of Dean Koontz s books this one takes you on an incredibly wonderful, believable yet sometimes frightening journey Sometimes I wish the journey never ended.Perhaps that s why I read them than once Thank you again Mr Koontz for the trip.

  4. I discovered this author years ago with WATCHERS and love almost everything he writes BREATHLESS delivers all his hallmarks great characters, amazing dogs and a fanciful, fast paced story written so beautifully that some passages took my breath away Thank you, Dean Koontz, for another page turning read

  5. It s like two or three stand alone short stories were combined with a linking theme of the new species created thru a miracle I think One story, about the twins, is not connected to the others at all, other than by geographic location.I was quite surprised to learn that Darwinian evolution is a debunked theory with no evidence to support it, information supported and proven by chaos theory Who knew

  6. I glimpsed a review that complained that the book is disjointed I disagree There are numerous story lines that are developed throughout the book, all of which come together beautifully at the end, which blew my mind I d so like to live in Dean Koontz s universe, which is full of innocence, hope, love and decency.

  7. Koontz is a story weaver extraordinaire His characters, while ordinary people, are well defined, contemplative and interesting This storyline is somewhat different from the other Koontz books I ve read but it still has the deeply twisted villain who starkly contrasts with the protagonists Yes, this one has two distinct protagonists The idea of wonder and hope versus evil and fear, but it s the evil who come to experience fear when ordinary people find hope.Enjoy Koontz This is a must read, but i [...]

  8. In reading the reviews, I m shocked that no one gets the message of this extraordinary book First, as in most of Mr Koontz s novels, there is a stark contrast between good and evil Some say that it is too stark, too raw, but perhaps it is all too realistic. The experience of the average citizen is very different from that of a police officer, investigaor, prison guard, or prosecuting attorney Evil exists and Mr Koontz looks directly into its icy heart. But great good also exists true compassion, s [...]

  9. Dean Koontz is a great author I have read and enjoyed so many of his books sweeping, satisfying books where he takes you on a journey of twists and turns, where great characters battle to escape and save something precious across chapter after chapter, where different threads come together into one cohesive whole and where the central premise is adequately explored. This book, sadly, has none of that. The blurb promises a pursuit of hair raising suspense as the characters go on the run What suspen [...]

  10. This must be one of the best Koontz books ever An exciting storyline, well written, with feeling About how a couple of people fool the American Department Of Homeland Security But I ll say no because it s easy to spoil the story for other readers This is a good place to start if you are new to Koontz
