  1. As someone else has already said, whatever this version or specific seller this is looks like garbage and looks like it was printed and bound by somebody in their basement after printing out the text file from a torrent There s no publisher info, at all I wish I would have looked at this closely as soon as I got it, as it stands now it s likely too late.Go buy this classic somewhere else.

  2. B1 Lewis simply sees that humans seem to have a unified understanding of fair play or decent behavior, which is ultimately morality He refers to it as the Laws of Nature He notes that it seems humans share this understanding, yet they break these rules He speaks of this as what we ought to do, like helping humans when helping may be dangerous For example, a man is drowning, and you are afraid to help as you may drown as well, yet you feel the drive to do what you ought to do and help the man He [...]

  3. I had ordered this book and then read customer reviews which said that the format was messed up, and even displayed photos showing text that ran in a thin and jagged column down the page I tried to cancel but it was too late The package came today and I looked at the text and it was normal The book seems totally fine I m not questioning other reviewers comments and complaints, but the problem seems to have been corrected and people should not be afraid to order this edition It is the least expen [...]

  4. It is difficult to limit my excitement about this classic work by C.S Lewis I first read the book while in college and now I am taking several fellows through the book in a small group setting It is a timeless classic that is as true today as when it was originally penned by Lewis as a series of talks given in London over the BBC during the challenging days of WW2 One must remember the historical setting when they read through the work Because this is a compilation of a series of talks, Lewis di [...]

  5. C.S Lewis builds Christian doctrine from the ground up, for both believers and non believers alike He does not assume that a reader already knows x or believes y He expertly and extensively uses metaphor to help mere humans understand the incomprehensible facts about God.For the non believer, it is a great opportunity to get a bare bones explanation of everything Christians believe For the believer, it is a great help in understanding why you believe what you believe Many Christians, without rea [...]

  6. Firstly, can I say that I did actually enjoy reading Mere Christianity C.S Lewis made some very good points and offers sound advice on how to live the Christian life which I believe could be invaluable to anyone endeavouring to grow in their faith. However, there is a section in the book that I strongly disagree with and which I believe could potentially mislead people, hence the low rating. In the chapter entitled The Great Sin he speaks about Pride and mentions this is the utmost evil of all vic [...]

  7. I found this book after it was referenced in another authors work that I was reading, just a few snippets of the content was enough to make me want to buy and read it and I m really glad that I did.As a teen I was staunchly atheistic and proudly touted my allegiance to the Dawkins and Hitchens of the world, yet as the public discourse and political cultural landscape shifts I, along with many people, have found a new level of patience and understanding with Anglican Christianity Lewis shows trem [...]
