  1. I really loved this, I m just bummed I didn t read it before starting the series When I read Cry Wolf, i struggled so much in the beginning and couldn t feel the characters at all, but I loved reading their story THIS would ve made that start spectacular Hopefully, readers find out this is the best way to start the series Even though I knew Charles was half Native American, I kept picturing a white guy it drove me nuts But this was like a whole new character I really wish the author had found a [...]

  2. I was never a big fan of werewolf stories until I started reading the series written by Patricia Briggs She somehow makes them realistic with the emotions of humans and the predatory behavior of wolves As humans they have everyday jobs and lives almost but as wolves it s a whole different story and what a story If you haven t experienced it yet this is a great way to start because it s shorty a novella Personally I like to start at the beginning of a series so I have the characters back story in [...]

  3. My favorite genre to read is mostly paranormal, and here is where I admit that I had never read anything by Patricia Briggs And now I am kicking myself I decided to start with this novella because it s really the first part of the story, and also so that I could see if I enjoyed the way the author wrote before taking on a new series So reading done and the first I thing I did when I finished this was of course, buy the first real book in the series,Cry Wolf, and immediately start reading Why Bec [...]

  4. Even though I just read this, after finishing book 3 in the series, I m loving it all I can t get Enough of Charles and Anna s adventures Plus the intimacy of getting to know themselves and each other better, in each book I just can t stop reading them, even to make time to review them yet But I will get to them. You can read this novella first Or u can read it after Book one, Cry Wolf I personally wish I had known about it, so I d read it first It s about how Charles, the Marrok s youngest son, [...]

  5. Don t be fooled This e book that the publisher couldn t even be bothered to create a cover for isn t a novella It s actually the first few chapters of Cry Wolf that the publisher whacked out so they could squeeze money out of readers What we get here is a novella that doesn t really go anywhere and a Kindle version of Cry Wolf that s totally confusing without its opening chapters.Do yourself a favor Find a paper copy of this book and read the whole story the way the author wrote it and the way s [...]

  6. This is a novella I m not generally a fan of novellas because they seem a little shallow and incomplete to me HOWEVER, Patricia Briggs is rapidly becoming a favorite author In spite of the short form of this story, I was engrossed in every page My only complaintI wanted MORE Happily, Ms Briggs has written three complete novels that follow this story world. If you re a fan of her Mercy Thompson stories as I am , you know the world fae and werewolves and vampires and witches But this is not the usu [...]

  7. I got this book as I love Patricia Briggs, the story is good and I like seeing how Charles and Anna startd Howevrer this is false advertising I read the description and it says 352 pages I think but there is only 3 chapters in the book and I counted 126 pages I hen things are not as described I m also pretty sutr i ve read this as part of another book with Patricia before Its a good read and I would recommend the story for any fans of patricia Briggs but based on the lies I wouldnt get this copy [...]

  8. There is nothing wrong with the story line, its the fact that the description is misleading It is as another reviewer stated the first three chapters out of On The Prowl, which I already own I had seen the review about it being the story that was in On The Prowl but because according to the description the book is 352 pages long, I assumed it was a much detailed edition of the story than the original, boy was I wrong, it is exactly the same and surely the book description should be changed becau [...]
